Cedar Point Opens THIS Saturday!! Here’s an Update….
Stretch your arms & crack your knuckles. It’s time to loosen up and be ready for the party that is visiting Cedar Point!! America’s Roller Coast is about to unveil a revamped coaster, a revamped hotel, and some other new updates to the park when they open for Coaster Season this Saturday, May 9th. We’re all on pins & needles waiting to take a ride on Rougarou and see just how upgraded it is over the Mantis. By all accounts from pictures and teaser videos, it looks like a fantastic addition to the parks collection of Scream Machines. What can help to make your mouth water for Opening Day? How about a Rougabrew!! As we reported to you last week, Cedar Point and Kings Island are getting their own signature lagers from Strongville, OH based The Brew Kettle. One of the beautiful things about living in 2015 is the social media age that all the kids are into. That helps us to get by in the offseason and have key updates straight from the Rougarou’s mouth about any and all progress for the forth-coming attractions and happenings. Let’s peel open what developments we saw this past week on social media through the eyes and tweets of Cedar Point officials:
On Friday, April 24th, Cedar Point tweeted out a photo that shows the progress of Tiki Twirl:
Tiki Twirl, some re-assembly required. How many days are there again?

On Monday, April 27th, Cedar Point’s “Communications Guy”, Tony Clark tweeted out a photo of the new Grand Entrance to Hotel Breakers. It does look quite Awesome!! When you look over the history of Hotel Breakers, you’ll notice that Cedar Point has always tinkered and upgraded the landmark hotel over the years. This appears to be some of the best and most elaborate updates they’ve done.
Now THAT’S an entrance!

On Wednesday, April 29th, we got treated to a new PointCast Minute (well, more like one minute & 25 seconds) with a really cool feature: extensive footage of Rougarou! This features “test dummys” among others Tony Clark (The Communications Guy) & Cedar Point GM Jason McClure riding on the Swamp Beast. Those trains. Those shoulder restraints. The floorlessness. Yes, we’re gonna love us some Rougarou. Have a look of the BEAST for yourself:
It certainly was a Good Wednesday around The Point!! On that same day, Tony Clark tweeted out a photo of the Lakeside Pavilion catering area that’s being upgraded. It is quite a nice look, especially with an incredible view out to the beach.
A little teaser of the new Lakeside Pavilion catering area. Wowsa.
The Point kicked off May by tweeting out a photo showing the new Hotel Breakers sign. It’s a nice throwback nod to the hotel’s past and the types of advertisements the park used to run. It’s a nice welcome to folks spending the night at an impressive resort.
That sign tho. Hotel Breakers is looking pretty fabulous! Only a week ’til it’s open.
Also on May 1st, Our buddy Tony showed us a photo of the family activity pool at Hotel Breakers. This is really going to be a fantastic stay for any family or persons that spending the night after all that screaming, laughing, walking and Rougabrew-ing!!
Prepare the new family activity pool!

On Saturday, May 2nd, we were treated once again to a photo of the new restraints on the Maverick trains, which many coaster freaks are very happy to see happen!
New restraints.
#Maverick haz dem.
That was QUITE an Epic week of updates from Cedar Point. They certainly know how to keep a party going in the offseason and then usher in a new season that’s upon us. Oh & by the by, Cleveland.com is having a poll from now until Wednesday, May 6th on Ohio’s Top Tourist Spot. Cast your vote for what you think is the Top Spot to visit in The Buckeye State. Of course, Cedar Point is an obvious choice but it’s really cool to see that as of the time of this writing, the impressive and world-class Pro Football Hall of Fame is in the #2 spot.
Keep biting a towel until Saturday, May 9th, Cedar Point Freaks. Like driving over the causeway and seeing The Point in the horizon, we’re getting closer!!
