Cedar Fair Debuts New Pass Perks Loyalty Program To Earn Rewards
Cedar Fair has officially implemented a new (long time rumored) rewards program into many of their amusement parks. Now, guests can get rewards simply by having fun! For the 2019 season, Cedar Fair is has debuted a new pass member loyalty system called Pass Perks—a new rewards program exclusively for Gold and Platinum Passholders. Each and every park visit counts toward earning fantastic prizes that you can redeem on future visits.
The Pass Perks program is Cedar Fair’s way of rewarding passholders for visiting their parks. When you visit Kings Island, Carowinds, Dorney Park, or Kings Dominion with a Gold or Platinum Pass, you could receive some awesome perks (for your next visit) in your email!
After visiting your “home” participating park, check your email and see if there’s any messages saying that the next time you visit during specific dates, you will receive a reward aka perk. Cedar Fair says “It could be a scrumptious treat or a humongous discount to something sensational — You never know what treat you’ll get, so it’s best to keep visiting the park and keep earning those valuable Pass Perks toward something AMAZING!” Gold and Platinum Passholders don’t need to “sign up” for this loyalty program. It’s included with your pass! Just visit Kings Island to get the perks started. The more you visit, the more perks and prizes you could receive!
Although, the program works automatically with your pass, you do need to be sure your email is linked to the pass. *Sign up for an online account here with your valid email address and Season Pass number, or you will not receive “Pass Perks” emails*. Without completing this step, you will still earn perks, you just won’t know it!
*Keep in mind, you can only earn rewards for your “home park” that is participating. “Home park” referring to the park that you validated your season pass at*. Participating parks are:
- Kings Island – Ohio
- Kings Dominion – Virginia
- Dorney Park – PA
- Carowinds – NC
Over the weekend, emails announcing the introduction of the program were sent out to pass-members at Kings Island, Carowinds, Dorney Park, and Kings Dominion. Although this new loyalty program has officially started, the details are scarce, and very secretive to say the least…
Other than “visiting a park”, there is no way to tell what you need to do to receive a “perk”. There’s no app section stating you need to do X to receive X etc… Without knowing what we need to do, it’s just all a big mystery. We did however confirm that all 2019 visits up to this point are accounted for towards Pass Perks. BUT, one crucial thing we still do not know is—if the program is valid for only your “home park” or when visiting “any participating park”. “Home park” referring to the park that you validated your season pass at.

What is Pass Perks?
“Pass Perks is a loyalty program that rewards Season Passholders simply by visiting the park. Each time Season Passholders visit, they will earn Pass Perks that count toward rewards – which are always surprises – redeemable on future visits.”
How do I join Pass Perks?
“So, how’s this for AMAZING? If you are a Gold or Platinum Passholder, you are automatically enrolled. However, we send all Pass Perks communications through email, so make sure we have your email address so we can send your Pass Perks rewards to you. To do that, sign up for an online account with your valid email address and Season Pass number. Note that one email address can be used for multiple Season Passes. For example, the mother’s email address can be used for all children’s Season Passes. The Season Pass number is the differentiator, so we will know whose Pass Perks belong to whom.”
How do I earn Pass Perks?
“You earn Pass Perks just by visiting the park.”How do I redeem my Pass Perks?
“Since each Pass Perk reward is fabulously different and exciting, you will redeem each in a different way. For example, you might go to the park ticket booth to redeem one reward and to a dining location for another. The email you receive that announced your Pass Perk reward will also contain detailed instructions for redeeming it, so make sure to check it out. Make sure we can send emails to you by creating an online account, including your valid email address and Season Pass number. Also, you must be present to redeem your reward (not someone else on your behalf).”What can I earn?
“Rewards are always a surprise, but examples include sweet and savory treats and discounts on merchandise and in-park experiences. “When do I know I’ve earned a Pass Perks reward?
“You will receive an email detailing the reward, including how and when to redeem it.”My family has multiple Season Passholders. How do I know who has earned what?
“When we send an email announcing a Pass Perks reward, we will include the last four digits of the Season Pass that earned the reward.”What if I don’t like the Pass Perks reward I’ve earned? Can I switch for something else?
“No. Our Pass Perks rewards are specially chosen for you!”Can I transfer my Pass Perks reward to someone else or can someone else pick it up for me?
“No. We want to see your smiling face again and that’s why we gave the Pass Perks reward to you!”
Do Pass Perks rewards expire?
“Yes. Make sure to check your email voucher for the times you need to visit in order to redeem. “
We have confirmed with Cedar Fair that the program is valid for only your “home park” that is participating. “Home park” referring to the park that you validated your season pass at.
Although limited details were provided about Pass Perks, it is quite apparent that the program is still under development. It could pan out to be great, or it could fizzle out—only time will tell. It is highly probable that more details will be clarified over the next few weeks. Either way, we are happy to see “perks” become a reality. Before you think about focusing on the negatives, remember, that until now—we haven’t had any perks at all!
