Cedar Fair Announces 2021 Opening Dates For Its Amusement Parks
In newsletters sent out to Cedar Fair season passholders, many of their parks announced the tentative dates for the start of the 2021 season.
The tentative opening dates are as follows:
- Kings Island: passholders – May 8/9
- Canada’s Wonderland: May 14
- Cedar Point: May 14
- California’s Great America: May 22
- Carowinds: May 22
- Dorney Park: May 22
- Kings Dominion: May 22
- Valleyfair: May 22
- Worlds of Fun: May 22
- Michigan’s Adventure: May 29
These dates are subjected to change at any time due to potential resurgence of the COVID-19 virus, distribution of vaccines, and government regulation.
Opening dates for Knott’s Berry Farm, Gilroy Gardens, and both Schlitterbahn’s are all still To Be Announced.
As with last season, a set of precautions will be in place which includes, but not limited to:
- Face masks to be worn at all times
- Enforced social distancing
- Limited capacity
- Hand sanitizing stations around the park
As of now, Cedar Fair parks are planning the return of seasonal events such as Grand Carnival, HAUNT, Winterfest, and the 150th anniversary celebration at Cedar Point, which was cut short last year by the COVID-19 pandemic.
