Carowinds County Fair Construction Update
Back in August, we brought you the news of the new County Fair coming to Carowinds and now we’re back to share what’s been going on at the park since it closed for the season! The new area of the park is set to open in 2017 and right now, Carowinds tells us that construction is running ahead of schedule!
In order to make room for the new expansion, Southern Sidewinder waterslide and a game stand in the north side of the park have been demolished. The demolition process is expected to wrap up soon and they will start foundation grading for the area’s four new family rides- Electro-Spin, Zephyr, Rock N’ Roller, and Do-Si-Do.
Carolina Cobra is under transformation to become Flying Cobras. The theme pays tribute to the classic air shows guests would see at a Carolina County Fair. The ride is currently undergoing a paint job with track being painted blue and the footers white The trains will each be stunt plane themed as well.
