Busch Gardens Williamsburg Voted World’s Most Beautiful Theme Park for 26th Year
Busch Gardens Williamsburg has earned the distinction of “World’s Most Beautiful Amusement Park” for the 26th consecutive year. The National Amusement Park Historical Association recently bestowed the honor upon Busch Gardens, continuing an annual tradition that dates all the way back to 1990!
This is a great honor for Busch Gardens and the team members who work so hard to ensure that our park is looking beautiful for our guests every day. To continue the tradition of being recognized for this honor is something we’re very proud of. – David Cromwell, park president.
Since 1975, Busch Gardens has been declared one of the greatest theme parks in the world. The park contains many unique features that differentiate it from the Tampa park, including a man made river with a boat ride, two dark rides, and two kiddie ride areas. Some of their animals include wolves and eagles. Six rides are still in operation that opened with the park 41 years ago:
- Rine River Cruise
- Busch Gardens Railway
- Le Scoot Log Flume
- Le Catapult
- Skyride
- Carousel
Earlier this year, Busch Gardens announced that they would be installing a new wooden roller coaster in which fans would be able to decide the rides name. Voting on the coasters name makes it the world’s first crowd sourced roller coaster! After a tight race between Battle Klash and InvadR, fans have voted InvadR to be the name. The park says that other elements including the rides logo, will be voted on in the future. InvadR will be manufactured by the famed Great Coasters International and be the first coaster built by GCI at Busch Gardens VA.
InvadR will be located in the New France area of the park and boasts some very impressive stats! It was announced that the new wooden coaster will be 2,100 feet long, have a 74 foot drop, and contain 9 airtime hills! Check out this awesome POV video the park released of the new ride!
Right now guests can end their Saturdays in August with a bang! Every Saturday night through September 3rd, Busch Gardens Williamsburg will illuminate the sky over the park. They’ve also developed a quiz you can take to find out what kind of thrill-seeker you are to help you plan your day! Click Here for more details!
