Bend The Bao Eatery Opens At Universal Orlando
Universal Orlando has opened an all-new quick service food venue today at CityWalk called Bend The Bao.
The new eatery features a variety of delicious items that fuse popular Asian cuisine with diverse ingredients like crab cakes, pork belly, kimchee fried chicken and more – creating an entirely new mash-up that “bends” the idea of a traditional bao.
Bend The Bao is the latest original concept dining experience created exclusively by Universal Orlando, combining unique theming with an extraordinary twist on the traditional quick service restaurant.
Incredibly-colorful pop art representing the creatures of the Chinese Zodiac will welcome guests to the venue, where they can grab tasty bao buns like the Crab Cake Bao with Maryland-style crab cake, shredded lettuce and mustard aioli, the Duck Bao with braised duck, kimchee slaw, XO sauce, cilantro and five spice aioli, and more.
The menu includes:
Shrimp Bao — Fried shrimp, shredded cabbage, avocado, pico de gallo, and chipotle crema
Crab Cake Bao — Maryland-style crab cake, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and mustard aioli
Beef Brisket Bao — Beef brisket, fried jalapeño, pickled red onion, cilantro, and avocado lime crema
Duck Bao — Braised duck, kimchee slaw, XO sauce, cilantro, and five-spice aioli
Pork Belly Bao — Pork belly, scallions, cucumber, honey-roasted peanuts, and cilantro
Veggie Bao — Roasted oyster mushrooms, spinach, sweet potato, caramelized onion, smoked ricotta cheese, and tomatillo salsa
The new quick service eatery will be located on the second level of Universal CityWalk, adjacent to the Universal Cinemark theatre. This location was formerly Fusion Bistro Sushi & Saki Bar, that opened in early 2010.
Bend The Bao will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. For more details, visit the official Universal Orlando website by clicking here.
