New Star Wars Teaser Debuts at Star Wars Celebration 2015!

Star Wars Celebration, the massive fan-fest of the franchise, has kicked off in Anaheim causing a massive disturbance in the Force by starting the event with the release of the latest teaser trailer for what’s easily the most highly anticipated film in the last forty years.
As usual, JJ Abrams has tossed out a teaser that will have new fans excited and old fans digging in to uncover things most viewers might not notice with the first viewing.
The latest teaser opens with a speeder of some kind tearing across the barren desert until it crosses in front an eye-popping shot of an Imperial Star Destroyer nose down in the dirt…and it appears to have been there for a while (along with the X-Wing in the foreground) after the Empire’s fall at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Most of the teaser contains revelations that fans of the saga will immediately get open-mouthed about like Vader’s charred helmet that someone took as a horrific keepsake from the funeral pyre at the end of Return of the Jedi, Luke’s lightsaber that he lost when Vader cut off his hand on Bespin at the end of The Empire Strikes Back (seriously…who went out and found THAT), Luke Skywalker and R2 together somewhere in the galaxy…

We also get a great look at the galaxy’s new bad guy, Kylo Ren and his army of troops:

As usual JJ Abrams drops a LOT of hints at things and uses clips that feature little clues at what’s going on in the newest chapter of a galaxy that’s been far, far away for too long.
The internet is bursting with breakdowns of this newest teaser and we’re going to let those of you who want to dig go examine it in more detail on their own so as not to spoil anything for those who’ve locked themselves in the basement without any electronic device and a heavy-duty set of earmuffs to avoid spoilers until the movie destroys any historical box office records in December when theaters everywhere realize they weren’t prepared for forty years worth of fans.
And even if you’re not a deep fan and just love the old Star Wars films?
You HAVE to be familiar with THIS image…I mean it’s been around for almost 40 years!
It’s iconic! It was used in promotional material for the original Star Wars back in 1977!

And right at the end of this fantastic tease at the new movie?
THAT’S when JJ Abrams pulls out the big guns loaded with a salvo of nostalgia, aims it right at your heart and you hear a familiar scoundrel’s voice speak the line:
“Chewie. We’re home.”
And then Abrams lets you have it with this final image…

Yep.
After almost 40 years…
We’re home.
For those who haven’t seen the trailer?
You’re welcome.
