“This is a significant milestone in our multi-year growth strategy,” said Sarah Worrell, General Manager of Kentucky Kingdom. “We’ve worked closely with Vekoma to design a coaster that meets the highest standards for safety and fun while bringing an original story to life that resonates with our region.”
Flying Fox continues Kentucky Kingdom’s transformation under Herschend’s ownership, representing the final chapter in a $33 million investment spanning 2024 through 2026. The park’s revitalization began with Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom in 2024, followed by the debut of Discovery Meadow in 2025, a vibrant new land that redefined immersive family play. Now, with Flying Fox on the horizon, Louisville’s largest theme park continues to strengthen its reputation as a destination where families can make memories worth repeating.

Located in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky Kingdom spans 67 acres and features more than 70 rides and attractions, including five world-class roller coasters and two giant wave pools. As part of the Herschend family of brands, which also includes Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, and Kennywood, the park shares a mission of “Bringing Families Closer Together by Creating Memories Worth Repeating.”
Construction is already underway with the area currently fenced off.

Flying Fox is scheduled to open at Kentucky Kingdom in 2026.
