Travis Kelce Invests in Six Flags, Parent Company of Cedar Point

Super Bowl champion and lifelong coaster fan Travis Kelce is turning his passion for thrill rides into a business venture. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has officially joined forces with activist investment firm JANA Partners, acquiring a stake in Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the parent company of Cedar Point, Kings Island, and dozens of other parks across North America. Travis revealed the news on his Instagram account.

Kelce, who grew up in northeast Ohio, has often shared his love for Cedar Point, the amusement park he visited countless times as a kid. On social media and in his New Heights podcast with brother Jason, he’s reminisced about summer days spent tackling legendary coasters like Raptor and Millennium Force. Now, that nostalgia has come full circle.

“This is so crazy to even imagine is real,” Kelce said. “You gotta love it when life comes full circle.” He added that helping make Six Flags and Cedar Point special for the next generation was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

Travis Kelce joins a powerhouse team of business leaders in the investment, including Glenn Murphy, former CEO of The Gap, and Dave Habiger, a technology executive associated with Reddit. Together with JANA’s managing partner Scott Ostfeld, the group now holds roughly 9% of Six Flags’ total shares.

JANA says the team intends to collaborate with Six Flags’ board and management on “opportunities to enhance shareholder value and improve the guest experience.”

The Six Flags–Cedar Fair merger in 2024 created the largest regional theme park operator in North America, but the company has faced challenges in its first year, including drops in attendance, revenue, and stock value. According to recent reports, shares have fallen more than 50% since the merger, though the JANA-Kelce announcement sent them soaring by more than 20% in a single day.

Six Flags spokesperson Gary Rhodes welcomed the move, stating that the company “appreciates the perspectives of shareholders” and remains committed to enhancing the guest experience and driving growth.

While Kelce is best known for his football career and high-profile engagement to Taylor Swift, his enthusiasm for the amusement industry runs deep, especially when it comes to his hometown park. With his name now attached to one of the biggest amusement park companies in the world, fans are already wondering if the Kelce family will be spotted back on the Cedar Point midway in 2026.
