Universal Orlando Kicks Off National Tour to Tease Epic Universe Theme Park Ahead of 2025 Opening
Universal Orlando Resort is hitting the road this spring with an immersive, multi-city experience designed to build excitement for its most ambitious projects yet — the launch of Universal Epic Universe. Set to open on May 22, 2025, the highly anticipated theme park will be previewed through the National Epic Universe Portal Tour, making limited stops in Atlanta, New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago.
At the heart of the tour is a towering 30-foot-tall replica of Chronos, the official icon and grand portal of Universal Epic Universe. This larger-than-life structure mirrors the one guests will pass through at the new park to access five unique and fully immersive worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter–Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon–Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
The portal tour is far from a simple photo-op. Visitors can expect an interactive experience featuring action-packed sequences that offer a taste of the groundbreaking attractions and immersive storytelling Universal is known for. At night, the portal transforms into a spectacular show with synchronized lighting and an enveloping musical score.
Fans can also snap photos next to the portal and enter a sweepstakes to win a trip to Universal Orlando Resort—including a first-hand visit to Epic Universe after it opens.
The tour schedule includes:
• April 11–13 – Atlanta, GA (Pemberton Place, adjacent to World of Coca-Cola)
• April 23–26 – New York, NY (Rockefeller Center)
• May 16–18 – Philadelphia, PA (The Rocky Steps)
• June 13–18 – Chicago, IL (Pioneer Court)
(All events run from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., subject to change.)
Universal Epic Universe marks a bold leap forward in theme park entertainment. Located just a few miles from Universal’s existing Orlando destinations, the new park will feature more than 50 experiences—from revolutionary rides and jaw-dropping shows to immersive dining and retail. It’s poised to redefine the guest journey, giving fans the chance to live out stories in deeply themed, sensory-rich environments.
The opening of Epic Universe will expand Universal Orlando Resort to four theme parks, joining Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay. The destination also includes the Universal CityWalk entertainment complex and 11 resort hotels—with the new Universal Helios Grand Hotel opening on the same day as the park, and the recently opened Universal Terra Luna Resort.
Universal Orlando Resort continues to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling, creating unforgettable adventures that spark wonder, excitement, and lasting memories. With Epic Universe on the horizon, the next era of theme park innovation is just around the corner.
