Kentucky Kingdom Unveils Discovery Meadow, a New $11 Million Land

Kentucky Kingdom is set to debut Discovery Meadow, a six-acre family-friendly expansion bringing a Kentucky-inspired experience to life.

Opening May 10, 2025, this $11 million addition is part of a larger $25 million investment spanning the next two seasons. The new land will feature three brand-new rides, 24 new and re-themed experiences, themed dining, shaded play areas, and original characters—all designed to celebrate the beauty and spirit of Kentucky.

Three New Family Rides:

Redbird Racer: A thrilling family ride where guests spin and swoop aboard a vibrant cardinal.

Scout’s Squirrel Race: A lively adventure featuring playful squirrels bouncing in pursuit of a giant acorn.

Cumberland Express: A whimsical garden train ride weaving through lush landscapes, complete with interactive woodland creatures.

Discovery Meadow will offer enhanced amenities, including a 4,800-square-foot shaded playground, two refreshed eateries including ”Blooms BBQ & Grill”, expanded seating areas, and a new Dippin’ Dots cart.

Guests can also enjoy the Games Garden, two newly refurbished restrooms, and two retail locations. Additionally, the land will feature four unique photo-worthy “wow” moments and introduce its own characters: Scout the Squirrel and Robin Bloom.

As part of the new land, several of the park’s popular rides have been renamed, including three of its iconic coasters:

• Storm Chaser is now Wind Chaser
• Thunder Run is now Woodland Run
• Roller Skater is now Hollyhock and Roll
