Freizeitpark Plohn to Debut World’s First Multi-Launch Water Coaster
Freizeitpark Plohn in Lengenfield, Germany, has partnered with Mack Rides to unveil a groundbreaking attraction: the world’s first multi-launch water coaster.

Scheduled to open in 2026, this hybrid ride will blend water canals and roller coaster tracks, setting new standards in theme park innovation.
Announced at the 2024 IAAPA Expo Europe, this coaster will utilize MIL (multi-linear induction) motors for its launches, a first in the industry. Despite claims, it redefines existing water coasters by adding unique launch mechanics.

Jan Völkel, spokesman of Freizeitpark Plohn, said:
“With the world’s first Water Coaster with Multi LIM Launch, we not only fulfill a dream, but also want to say thank you to our loyal and steadily growing fan base in a very special way. The unique combination of high-tech, water fun and roller coaster is not yet available anywhere in the world in this form. The action-packed yet family-friendly orientation of the large attraction will perfectly complement the diverse offer of our park. It is no coincidence that we have again decided to do so in the familiar partnership with MACK RIDES, and thus for a real “Mack product”.
Water coasters vary widely in design and propulsion systems. Traditional water coasters, like those found at water parks, often use jets or magnets to propel rafts along slides. Meanwhile, Mack Rides’ new water coaster at Freizeitpark Plohn will differentiate itself with its use of multi-linear induction (MIL) motors, enabling multiple launches along the ride. This makes it the first of its kind. In contrast, rides like SeaWorld’s Catapult Falls and Universal’s Krakatau use different launch and propulsion methods, distinguishing each attraction by its unique mechanics.

The new water coaster at Freizeitpark Plohn features an array of thrilling elements. Riders will experience two launches, high-speed airtime hops, and unique twists such as the “High Five” elements and a “Lying Horseshoe.” The layout also includes dynamic curves, like a Banked Highcurve and Dive Curve, adding excitement throughout. With a combination of water canals and coaster tracks, the ride concludes by diving into the floods one last time with a powerful “splash”, making for a seamless and exhilarating journey.
Freizeitpark Plohn’s highly anticipated multi-launch water coaster is set to make waves when it opens to the public in 2026.
