New At Cedar Point In 2022

The long wait is almost over. Cedar Point’s 153rd summer season begins on Saturday, May 7. The park is preparing for the upcoming season by introducing completely renovated and transformed hotel properties, new touchless transaction technology, and of course new dining options. Here’s some things to expect for 2022!

The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill

Located in the heart of Frontier Town, The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill will offer a variety of hand-made dining selections, including roasted corn ribs, house-made chili, char-roasted flank steak with chimichurri, roasted seasonal vegetables, hushpuppies, cast iron brownie a-la-mode and more. The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill will also serve a rotating featured item prepared by the park’s culinary team.

Derby Dogs & Coasters Drive-In

With the thrill of racing on the historic Cedar Downs Racing Derby right next door, guests can celebrate victory with custom hot dog creations at the new Derby Dogs (formerly Subway). The menu features a choice of jumbo or footlong all-beef hot dogs, a trio of mini hot dogs, or Italian sausage, with custom topping choices of bacon, onions, chili, sauerkraut, avocado halves, cole slaw, jalapenos, tomatoes, shredded cheeses and more.

Over at Coasters Drive-In, one of the park’s most popular dining locations, an interior transformation will debut this season. Improved for enhanced speed of service, Coasters Drive-In will serve hand-made burgers, milkshakes and feature a toppings bar for a variety of custom combinations. Coasters Drive-In will also feature rotating sandwich and salad specials with a nod to the diner’s old school theme.

Castaway Bay by Cedar Point Resorts

Located just off the Cedar Point Peninsula, the reimagined Castaway Bay year-round indoor waterpark hotel welcomes guests for an all-new family aqua adventure. A cast of new loveable original characters create a company-first, themed resort experience, offering immersive entertainment on land, air and sea, beginning with themed floors or habitats that extend to the guest rooms. Hosted interactive activities with the characters, family game shows, daily “bon voyage” send-offs and nightly fish parades provide continuous dry land adventures in addition to the aqua-inspired fun inside the refreshed 38,000-square-foot indoor family waterpark.

Castaway Bay will reopen after being closed for renovations in 2021. The resort will open on Friday, May 6.

Sawmill Creek by Cedar Point Resorts

The completely renovated Sawmill Creek, surrounded by 200 acres of woodlands and just a short 10-minute drive from Cedar Point, is set to welcome overnight guests this summer for a nature-inspired resort getaway. Sawmill Creek’s 239 guest rooms, 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed golf course, new dining experiences, Lake Erie marina, resort pool and 35,000 square feet of flexible indoor event space will be ready for casual stays, family vacations, major events or a week-long retreat.

Sawmill Creek will open in June. Guests can now reserve an overnight stay, reserve event space and begin their planning at sawmillcreekresort.com.

New Park Map

Below is the 2022 Cedar Point park map. As you can see, the boardwalk is temporarily closed from entering at the main parking lot (construction), the parade route has been modified, and MaXair is officially back!

Wicked Twister roller coaster has obviously been removed, and Top Thrill Dragster is still listed but will not operate for the entire 2022 season. While new eateries such as The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill and Derby Dogs have been added, The RoundUp quick serve has been removed – and it’s worth noting the Dining Plan symbol has been removed from Provisions eatery at Forbidden Frontier.

Although it’s not new, one of the events that will be returning this year is the annual celebration of hope, health and harvest known as The Frontier Festival.

Starting in 2015 as “Brew & BBQ”, the annual event has slowly morphed over time to be more family focused. This street festival offers live bands, character entertainment, activities, games, crafters and of course tastes and sips! Click Here for a look at the 2022 menu including a Donut Burger!

This year, Cedar Point will be hosting Wild Frontier Nights, an exclusive, adults-only after-hours event.

The event will take place on 4 select nights, June 3, 4, 10, and 11 from 9 pm. to midnight. Your limited-attendance event ticket to Wild Frontier Nights comes complete with private access to Frontier Town for a dust storm full of activity, including hearty tastes from the chef’s private recipe collection, hand-crafted cocktails you can’t sip anywhere else, boot-scootin’ live music, dancing, bull riding and fun event-only activities for adults.

Be a “V.I.O.” (Very Important Outlaw) and own the summer night with private rides on some of Cedar Point’s baddest attractions like Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Skyhawk and more. After the park settles in for the night, your ultimate hostess Lil is bringin’ the heat for all adult cowboys and cowgirls and she’s sure to cause a ruckus! This limited-time and limited-availability summer event is sure to sell out. *Advanced ticket purchase required.

All-New Summer Pass

Are you a frequent visitor of Cedar Point? The park unveiled their All-New “Summer Pass” (available for a limited time). The Summer Pass includes unlimited admission and free parking to Cedar Point through Labor Day 2022, plus access to everything Cedar Point has to offer in the heart of the summer, including Frontier Festival, Cedar Point Nights, the Celebrate Cedar Point Parade & Spectacular, the mile-long Cedar Point Beach and more. Summer Passholders who wish to add Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, HalloWeekends and bring-a-friend opportunities can upgrade to a 2022 Gold Pass for just $36 more.

Early Entry

Cedar Point Resorts guests, Platinum Passholders and Cedar Point Gold Passholders can start their day with “Early Entry” — getting special access to the park before it opens. It’s a great opportunity to get a head start on some of the park’s busiest attractions, including several for kids and families.

While guests may enter the park an hour early, not all attractions are available to ride at that time. Each year, the park offers select attractions that open for “Early Entry” one hour before the posted public park opening time. As a quick reminder to anyone planning a visit, the park is going completely cashless starting this year. Guests who bring cash to the park can convert it into a prepaid debit card that can be used anywhere, not just in the park, with no fees.
