Concerts Return To Timberwolf Amphitheatre At Kings Island

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022, Kings Island has announced the return of live music to the Timberwolf Amphitheatre. And for the first time, concert goers will not have to purchase admission to the amusement park to attend.

Timberwolf Amphitheatre has been an entertainment staple at Kings Island since the 1980’s, but has seen less usage due to increased competition from nearby entertainment venues such as Riverbend Music Center, and others. The venue has hosted numerous famous artists such as: Eric Clapton, The Beach Boys, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Britney Spears, and the annual Spirit Song event.

“Since Timberwolf opened in 1982, some of the most popular performers of our time have taken its stage,” said Mike Koontz, Kings Island vice president and general manager. “We are excited to bring that tradition back to Kings Island this summer.”

The 2022 Kings Island Concert Series at Timberwolf Amphitheatre presented by Platform Beer Company marks the most summer concerts at Timberwolf since 1995.

2022 Concert Series Lineup Information

• June 29 – The Avett Brothers
• July 9 – Berlin & A Flock of Seagulls
• July 22 – 3 Doors down with special guest Candlebox
• July 23 – Skillet with special guest Jordan St. Cyr
• August 20 – Five for Fighting with special guest The Verve Pipe (proceeds to benefit A Kid Again)

Ohio-based Platform Beer has partnered with the park for a special collaborative beer release: Happy Place. The golden lager will be available at Timberwolf concerts and features “subtle notes of cereal, floral and soft spice,” per the brewery. It is also available inside the park as well as local community grocery and convenience stores near Kings Island.

While a Kings Island ticket isn’t required to see these shows, Kings Island passholders will have access to an exclusive pre-sale for all shows beginning on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, April 28 at 10 p.m.

Concert tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. VIP tickets are also available.
