Lake Compounce To Debut Massive Transformation For 175th Anniversary
Lake Compounce, America’s Oldest Amusement Park celebrates its 175th birthday this year and is getting the party started even earlier by moving up Opening Day three weeks to Saturday, May 8. The celebration starts with a complete re-branding, including a new logo, a park-wide visual transformation, an all-new waterslide named Venus Vortex, plus, Bites & Pints, a new food and beverage festival during the month of June.
Visitors can expect immersion from the second they visit the parks new website or turn into the Lake Compounce parking lot!

After parking and entering through the iconic tunnel, guests will take in the beautiful Main Gate area and marvel at the reimagined Main Street, complete with twinkling lights and a magical ambiance.

Throughout the park, fresh colors, new seating and shade, and new landscaping create an eye-catching environment fitting for an institution 175 years young.

Currently growing by the lake, the all-new Venus Vortex waterslide will stand six-stories high and offer a thrilling experience for adults and kids alike. Riders will enter a three-person raft and journey through twists and turns, only to plummet into the jaws of the hungry Venus Flytrap.
Most of the transformation should be complete when Lake Compounce opens in early May, but parts of the project like the Venus Vortex won’t be complete until Memorial Day weekend.

As part of an easing of restrictions by Gov. Ned Lamont’s administration, amusement parks in Connecticut will be allowed to open at 50% capacity with a cap of 10,000 people beginning April 2.
Lake Compounce is scheduled to open for its 175th anniversary season on Saturday, May 8.
