Great Pumpkin LuminNights Grows At Dollywood

Great Pumpkin LumiNights returns to Dollywood’s Harvest Festival this fall. This year’s event is bigger and better than ever with several new immersive displays, exciting activities and an expanded footprint that’s more than twice the size of last year’s event. The Harvest Festival itself is also growing in 2018 with six additional days added to the calendar.

Guests can enjoy family fall fun every Saturday beginning September 28 and running through November 3. From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m each day, guests can enjoy the festivities of harvest time in the Smokies.

If you enjoyed last year’s pumpkin spider and pumpkin dance party, you’ll be happy to know they are returning in 2018. They’ll be joined by new displays including a few that are Dolly-Parton inspired. The whole event is entered around the Plaza at Wilderness Pass which will be complete with a 40 foot tall pumpkin tree (in addition to the additional displays and an area to meet characters).

Thousands of intricately-carved pumpkins will light up Dollywood’s Timber Canyon, Wilderness Pass and upper Craftsman’s Valley area. Among the many activities offered throughout these areas are “pumpkin artists” who will host demonstrations showing guests how to produce the perfect pumpkin masterpiece. In addition, more than 30 visiting artisans from across the country will bring their wares and share their talents with guests. Craft demonstrations include textile art, inspirational jewelry, loom weaving, paper marbling, bentwood boxes, rug hooking, fiddle making, and dulcimer making to name a few.

The extended days of the Harvest Festival also allows guests to enjoy more live music. Throughout the fall, some of the biggest names in gospel music visit the park for the Southern Gospel Jubilee. Over the course of the festival, more than 625 individual Southern Gospel performances will take place on stages throughout the park. It’s so big, it’ll actually be the largest Southern gospel event in America.
