Busch Gardens Williamsburg Welcomes 100 Millionth Guest
Today Busch Gardens Williamsburg Celebrated an exciting milestone — the 100 millionth guest! 42 years after the park opened it’s gates, they welcomed Reggie Henderson as the 100 millionth guest.
As the lucky guest, Reggie received a price package full of giveaways. He received admission to Busch Gardens and Water Country for five years, an invitation to VR 2018 Opening Day, a summer dining plan, Ultimate Thrills Quick Queues, an Elite VIP Tour, reserved seating for all remaining 2017 concerts, an annual Photo Key for the family and a huge gift basket filled with park merchandise.
“I was just back for a family vacation and decided to come to Busch Gardens,” said Henderson, a Henderson, North Carolina, native. “The last time I was here, I was in the seventh grade, which was in 1977. It was amazing and quite an honor.”
Busch Gardens Williamsburg opened on May 10, 1975 as “The Old Country”. Former Gov. Mills E. Godwin, Jr. and television personality Ed McMahon were among the dignitaries on hand as more than 6,000 guests attended the park’s officially opening. Today, 42 years later, Busch Gardens has grown into an action-packed park with more than 50 thrilling rides, shows and attractions.
