New Thrills at Worlds of Fun!
It’s been quite some time since World’s of Fun in located in Kansas City, Missouri has gotten a major attraction, but it look like the park is starting to do some 2017 teasing… Over the weekend, a new banner was hung up showing off the parks history of thrills.
Nothing has been officially announced by Worlds of Fun other than the banner, but when parks start teasing this early, that’s usually a good sign that something big in the plans. Especially since the banner is very similar to the legacy timeline Cedar Point used before their last coaster announcement.
In 2013, Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun combined park thrills to a one ticket admission. Guests can enjoy over 235-acres of rides and slides in one park for one price!
For 2016, the park added 5 new flat rides in Planet Snoopy:
- Woodstock Gliders – Young guests control their own flight with moveable wings.
- Beagle Brigade Airfield – Get your aviators glasses ready for a high-flying adventure with Snoopy. (formerly titled Flying Ace)
- Snoopy Space Buggies – Defy gravity and bounce to the moon and back.
- Linus Launcher – Experience the sensation of weightlessness through flight with feet dangling
- Snoopy Junction – All aboard! Snoopy the conductor leads kids on a railroad adventure.
“Thrills come in all sizes,” says vice president and general manager Frank Wilburn. “It’s important that we continue to create the best family environment for our guests and what better place to do that than right here at Planet Snoopy where we create memories that last a lifetime”.
Planet Snoopy was added to Worlds of Fun in 2011 and will now feature over 20 Peanuts-themed rides, shows, and attractions, including seven new rides designed for families to ride together. Little ones can take a trip on new monster trucks, take to the skies on a forty-foot balloon ride, or hop in a spinning tug-boat for the whole family. Plus a Family Care Center provides families with a perfect spot to cool off, feed little ones, and store supplies. Kids also have an opportunity to meet their favorite Peanuts pals like Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Sally, and of course the world’s most popular beagle, Snoopy!
For 2017, we already know Cedar Fair is refurbishing a Huss Troika and Huss Condor they purchased from Europe. But maybe they have something else in the plans for thrill seekers at Worlds of Fun as well!!??!?!! There has been an ongoing rumor for quite some time that Worlds of Fun will be receiving a new coaster in 2018, but nothing has been confirmed. It’s pretty far off to even start speculating..
