New Markers Appear At Cedar Point
Over the course of the last few seasons, Cedar Point has been rapidly updating the park with new rides (Steel Vengeance and Snake River Expedition) and new eateries such as French Quarter Confectionery, The Corral, and the soon to open Mac and Cheese Shack.
Back in February, during the annual 2020 “Winter Chill Out” off season park tour, markers were observed all throughout the Frontier Town section of the park. Our photos below show markings for electrical, communication, and gas lines that spanned from Snake River Falls over to the Antique Cars, and back to the Town Hall Restrooms.
Similar markers were seen in the past, prior to the construction of BackBeatBBQ. However, given the size and the very early timing of the markers, it is probably something larger than a restaurant.
Could we be looking at the early stages of a new ride? Will this construction still take place amid the COVID19 pandemic? Sorry to leave readers with more questions than answers, but only time will tell, Stay Tuned!
– – – UPDATE (8/15/2020) – – –
New markers have been placed on the plot of land adjacent to where the initial markers were first seen. The new set of markers have been placed around the Antiques in the Frontier Town section of the park.
The markers shown below are for electrical, communication, and gas lines.
– – – UPDATE (5/29/2021) – – –
New markers have been placed on the plot of land east of the Antiques, near the junction of the two main paths in Frontiertown by the former 3 point game and Stockade. The markers indicate that they are for electric lines.
Additional markers have gone up by the Cedar Creek Mine Ride coaster as well. All told, the observed markers in the area have been noted to be for Potable Water, Gas, Telecommunication, and electric lines.
As of now, the markers stretch from Skyhawk to the Stockade eatery. Could this be the start of another new coaster? Sorry to leave readers with more questions than answers, but only time will tell.
