Kings Island Debuts Queen City Stunt Coaster For 2025 Season
Kings Island is hitting the gas on its 2025 season with the debut of Queen City Stunt Coaster, a newly reimagined version of one of the park’s most action-packed attractions.

Opening today exclusively for Season Passholders during a special preview event, the refreshed coaster brings a Cincinnati twist to the high-speed thrills fans have loved for two decades.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the ride formerly known as Backlot Stunt Coaster has undergone a major thematic transformation. Now renamed Queen City Stunt Coaster, the attraction pays tribute to Cincinnati with a setting that highlights the city’s most iconic sights. Guests will race past detailed billboards featuring landmarks like the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, the Cincinnati Museum Center, Fountain Square, and the city’s downtown skyline, all set against the backdrop of a fast-paced Hollywood-style chase scene.

First introduced in 2005 as The Italian Job: Stunt Track, the 1,960-foot-long coaster was renamed Backlot Stunt Coaster in 2008. In its latest evolution, the ride trades generic film sets for the spirit of Cincinnati, placing riders at the center of a high-adrenaline car chase through the Queen City itself. From speeding through a parking garage helix to plummeting into a dark tunnel rumored to connect to Cincinnati’s abandoned subway system, the coaster blends Hollywood action with local flair.

Using powerful linear induction motors, Queen City Stunt Coaster launches guests from zero to 40 miles per hour in just three seconds. The two-minute adventure is packed with high-banked turns, explosive effects, and non-stop white-knuckle excitement, giving thrill-seekers a chance to feel like a movie stunt driver on the run—only now, the action unfolds right in the heart of Ohio.

Heres a sneak peek of the re-imagined attraction.
Season Passholders will be the first to experience the revamped ride today from noon to 9:00 p.m. as part of Kings Island’s Passholder Preview. The park opens to all guests this Saturday, April 19, marking the official start of the 2025 season.
