Dollywood Dubs 2017 The Year Of The Family With Multiple New Attractions
Coming off a record year featuring Lightning Rod, the best new attraction of 2016, Dollywood is at it again for 2017. Earlier this year they announced that Splash Country would be getting a new multi-lane mat-racer-style slide, Tailspin in 2017 and today they announced even more attractions for the upcoming season.
Dolly Parton herself is incredibly excited for the 2017 season:
“As everybody already knows, family is very important to me. These days, there doesn’t seem to be enough time for families to be together, whether you’re a just a couple like me and Carl or you have 12 kids like my family did growing up. That’s why we continue to add all these new rides and shows for families to experience together. We have something for everyone, but even more important, we have something for you AND your family. We’re adding so much this year; I’m calling 2017 ‘the year of the family!’”
Two new family rides will debut in 2017! The first is Drop Line, a 200-foot free-fall experience that towers over Timber Canyon and provides an incredible view of the park before its exhilarating finish. The tower will lift guests nearly 20 stories about the Canyon’s pool and then plummet them to the ground.
The second new family attraction is Whistle Punk Chaser, a junior coaster which throws exciting twists and turns at Dollywood’s younger loggers. The coaster will help the junior thrill-seekers prepare for joining their parents on the park’s bigger thrills in the future!
In addition to the attractions, Dollywood also unveiled two new events for the upcoming season. Starting just in time for spring break, enra, a Tokyo-based dance company will be wowing audiences with their high-energy multi-media dance, light and video fusion show. The group was featured on America’s Got Talent in 2015. The show at Dollywood will feature interactive video and lights to create a unique experience for each guest. GREAT! Pumpkin LumiNights will be joining the Harvest Festival in 2017. The nighttime event will immerse families in a fabulous fall pumpkin illumination.
