Universal Studios Hollywood Unveils Epic Holiday Makeover with New Attractions and Fan Favorites
Universal Studios Hollywood is set to transform into a festive wonderland this holiday season, bringing new experiences and cherished traditions to guests of all ages. Visitors can immerse themselves in a range of holiday celebrations, all included with park admission.
One of the season’s highlights will be at Super Nintendo World, where the Mushroom Kingdom will receive a holiday makeover for the first time. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad will welcome visitors to a dazzling scene complete with a Super Star-topped Christmas tree and two festive snowmen wearing Mario and Luigi hats.
Inside, the holiday spirit will shine through themed décor and seasonal treats at Toadstool Café, while guests can browse exclusive holiday merchandise at select retail spots.
In the heart of the park, Universal Plaza will once again host the beloved “Grinchmas” Who-bilation.
This year’s festivities promise to be bigger and brighter than ever, with Whoville’s signature 65-foot-tall, whimsically shaped Grinchmas tree standing proudly adorned with vibrant ornaments and thousands of LED lights. Nightly tree-lighting ceremonies, complete with falling snow, will create a magical atmosphere for all to enjoy. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the Grinch himself, along with his loyal dog Max, and participate in Who-inspired activities like story time with Cindy-Lou Who and crafting Grinchmas ornaments.
The festive fun continues in Hogsmeade village with “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” The village will be transformed with enchanting garlands, twinkling lights, and magical décor. Visitors can enjoy the harmonious a cappella performances of the Frog Choir and browse the village shops for special holiday gifts. A warming cup of Butterbeer, available hot, cold, or frozen, will be the perfect complement to a stroll through the village. As twilight approaches, the majestic Hogwarts castle will become a spectacle of light with “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle,” an awe-inspiring projection show set to the music from the Harry Potter films.
For those looking to continue the holiday cheer outside the park, Universal CityWalk Hollywood will also join in the festivities. The outdoor complex will be adorned with festive decorations, and a towering 40-foot-tall Christmas tree decked with 200,000 LED lights will dazzle visitors. Live bands, DJs, and street performers at the 5 Towers stage will keep the holiday spirit alive with lively performances on select nights.
The holiday celebrations at Universal Studios Hollywood will run from November 29, 2024, through January 6, 2025.
