The Beach Waterpark Sub-Division Comes Alive As New Developments Underway

The Beach Waterpark has been quiet for nearly all of 2020. Having last operated in 2019, many wondered what would happen to the water park and the surrounding land. In the last few weeks, there has been progress in reviving the area, but not as a waterpark…

In March of 2021, a new proposal for a kennel, to be built on the land beside the entrance of the Beach Waterpark, was proposed to Mason Government. The proposal consisted of a plan to construct an 11,000 square foot building with both indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities for animals and
a forty-four-space parking lot. The ordinances allow the project to be set back forty feet from the northern property line, ten feet from the eastern property line (Beach Water Park) and permits an increase to the height of the fence to seven feet.

Along with the kennel, a move was made to split up the plots of land surrounding the park. New plots were created along Water Park Road and Beach Boulevard. This comes on the heels of the Lazy Bear restaurant putting their property up to be leased.

As for the waterpark itself, the park has not updated their ticket or season pass offers since the start of the pandemic. Furthermore, the property has not been sold yet, even though the land has been listed for a year and a half.

As of now, the only sign that the park intends to resume operation is the job postings for the following positions: Communications Operator, Park Services Attendant, Food Service-Cook, Lifeguard, First Aid/EMT, Gift Shop Attendant, Maintenance, Cashier Associate, Celebration Expert, Bartender, Ride Operator, and Control Room Attendant. Most of these listings were posted in early 2020, so it is unknown if the park is still looking for those positions.

Here’s some additional photos of The Beach Waterpark. Interestingly, our photographer and graphic designer, Alyssa Schipani (DesignByAly.com) shot the marketing images for The Beach, so you will see many of our photos on the official website.
