Start The New Year at SeaWorld San Diego
It’s officially the New Year and SeaWorld San Diego has a lineup of events for the whole family. Returning this year is the program Inside Look. The program will happen three times throughout 2019. January’s visits will focus on Animal Playtime at six areas throughout the park: Killer Whale Underwater Viewing, Dolphin Point, Penguin Encounter, Otter Outlook, Turtle Reef and Sea Lion and Otter Amphitheater. At each area, trainers and keepers will highlight the importance of why play is important and how enrichment is incorporated into the daily lives of the animals. Guests who visit all six areas and get their map stamped can receive a special turtle-themed Expert Explorer pin. Inside Look takes place January 12-13, 19-21, and 26-27.
On January 20, SeaWorld will join in the global recognition of Penguin Awareness Day. As part of Inside Look that day, guests can stop by the Penguin Encounter at 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. for an inside look at SeaWorld’s family of nearly 400 penguins. Guests will also get to see and learn about the park’s baby penguins. The sessions will also focus on educating guests on how they can help protect the penguin population.
Finally, there is still time left to get a Preschool Fun Card. Parents with kids ages 5 and under living in San Diego and Orange Counties can take advantage of the SeaWorld Preschool Fun Card. For $20, the card allows kids to ride, climb, splash and play all year long at SeaWorld.
