Silverwood’s New Single Rail Coaster Completes First Test Run
Silverwood Theme Park In Athol, Idaho stunned thrill seekers with the announcement of Stunt Pilot, the Northwest’s first single rail coaster. The ride was constructed over the winter, and on May 13th, the park conducted the first test run of the new coaster.
The ride is a modified layout of manufacturer Rocky Mountain Constructions prototype model. Unlike the 8 car versions seen at California’ Great America and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, this version has 10 cars. That required the pre-drop turnaround to be flat, the drop to be made nearly vertical, and profile changes for some elements on the ride.

The ride is scheduled to open on May 29th. The park is working with the Children’s Village to conduct an auction for the first 10 seats on Stunt Pilot for its grand opening with all proceeds will go to the Children’s Village! Each winner will receive a ticket to Silverwood, a commemorative first rider gift, and the first public ride on Stunt Pilot. To bid on a seat, click here.
