SeaWorld Orlando to Launch World’s First Arctic Flying Theater Attraction
SeaWorld Orlando has announced its latest groundbreaking attraction: the world’s first-of-its-kind Arctic flying theater, set to open in Spring 2025.

This immersive indoor experience promises to take visitors on a thrilling journey over icy landscapes and beneath frozen waters, allowing them to encounter some of the planet’s most majestic Arctic creatures like beluga whales, orcas, and walruses.

The attraction will offer guests a breathtaking 4.5-minute ride through the Arctic, capturing awe-inspiring visuals from soaring above snow-capped mountains and glaciers to plunging underwater to view the teeming marine life below. The highlight of the experience will be witnessing the Aurora Borealis and exploring remote landscapes rarely seen by most travelers.

SeaWorld’s new ride is designed with family in mind, with a minimum height requirement of just 39 inches, making it accessible to younger adventurers. Guests will board one of two multi-level theaters, each accommodating 30 riders, where they’ll embark on a fully immersive journey. The theater’s unique design offers a seamless transition from underwater views to an outer atmospheric perspective, offering a satellite-like view of the Arctic.
Jon Peterson, President of SeaWorld Orlando, expressed excitement over the project, stating, “This indoor immersive flying theater experience reinforces our commitment to education, animal care, and research. Guests will feel like they are truly visiting the Arctic and encountering some of its incredible wildlife, such as beluga whales and walruses.”
The Arctic flying theater builds upon the success of SeaWorld Orlando’s previous family-friendly attractions, such as Penguin Trek. As an indoor experience, this new ride ensures year-round enjoyment, regardless of weather conditions.
Filming for the attraction took place in some of the most remote areas of the Arctic, thanks to custom equipment developed specifically for the project. An award-winning production team captured stunning footage that goes beyond the stereotypical frozen landscape, showcasing lush green environments, crystal-clear waters, and untouched vistas.
In addition to the thrilling adventure, SeaWorld emphasizes the educational aspect of the ride, allowing guests to gain a deeper understanding of the Arctic’s ecosystem. By blending education with entertainment, SeaWorld Orlando continues its commitment to conservation and awareness of the planet’s fragile environments.

Annual Pass Members will get exclusive early access to the attraction before its public opening in 2025. SeaWorld is encouraging thrill-seekers and families to secure their passes now to be among the first to experience this world-class adventure.
