Six Flags Over Texas is charging into history with Tormenta Rampaging Run, a one-of-a-kind roller coaster that will trample six world records when it opens in 2026.

Soaring to 309 feet, this adrenaline-fueled attraction will not only become the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster, but also the first-ever giga dive coaster, setting a bold new benchmark in the amusement industry.

Themed after Spain’s legendary “running of the bulls,” Tormenta Rampaging Run promises to capture the chaos and intensity of the centuries-old tradition. Riders will be lifted skyward before being released into a breathtaking 95-degree beyond-vertical drop of 285 feet, followed by airtime hills, a towering 179-foot vertical loop, and an Immelmann inversion that flips guests upside down at a dizzying 218 feet in the air.

Record-Breaking Features:

  • Tallest Dive Coaster: 309 feet
  • Fastest Dive Coaster: 87mph
  • Longest Dive Coaster: 4,199 feet of track
  • Tallest Vertical Loop: 179 feet
  • Highest Immelmann Inversion: 218 feet
  • Steepest Dive Drop: 95 degrees, plunging 285 feet

Designed by Bolliger & Mabillard, the world-renowned creators behind some of the industry’s most celebrated coasters, the ride combines the massive scale of a giga coaster with the suspenseful, hold-your-breath drops that dive coasters are famous for.

Tormenta Rampaging Run will anchor an all-new themed area, Rancho de la Tormenta, immersing guests in the sights and sounds of a vibrant Spanish village. According to park lore, the town was named after storms that once swept its plains—until a legendary bull named Tormenta claimed the spotlight, feared and revered for his speed and power.

The new land will also introduce Cocina Abuela, a restaurant inspired by traditional Spanish and Latin American cuisine. Guests can look forward to scratch-made dishes like chicken tinga, papas bravas, fresh guacamole, and more.. an elevated take on theme park dining.

The 2026 debut of Tormenta Rampaging Run will coincide with the park’s 65th anniversary, marking a historic moment for the original Six Flags park. Opening on August 1, 1961, Six Flags Over Texas set the stage for a global theme park empire. Its anniversary celebration will feature special previews, events, and exclusive giveaways, ensuring this record-breaking coaster takes center stage during the festivities.
