Monsters Come Alive At Woods Of Terror
As we creep into mid October, monsters are coming alive at North Carolina’s Woods of Terror — and no one knows what’s lurking in the dark! Legend has it that the land is inhabited by the souls of Great Depression era victims. Many people perished as a result of the tolls of the Great Depression. The victims rarely got a proper burial and their spirits continued to roam free. In Greensboro, Father McMillan exercised and bound the spirits roaming the city to a plot of land. This land is now known as the Woods of Terror.
Woods of Terror, in its 27th year of operation, is located at McLaurin Farms in Greensboro, North Carolina. The haunted thrill park includes 12 different haunted attractions as well as a Monster Midway.
While most haunted house midways offer food and games, Woods of Terror does something a little outside of the box. The Monster Midway does feature the usual games, food, and other activities – but each night at 7 pm, the midway comes alive with a Monster Parade, led by the Casket Car and Spawn the Snake!
So,just what makes Woods of Terror so different or special? For starters, it’s located just outside of the city on rural farm land. It’s not a turn key attraction on a boardwalk or in an industrial building in the middle of a city. The sets are original and most importantly, SCARY!
Woods of Terror will scare the yell out of you! While the build crew does travel to around the country to attend Halloween tradeshows and conventions, they don’t just copy or buy their sets and drop them in. Their team works nearly year-round to create some of their own unique horrific sets. Most of these hollywood style sets and special effects come from the mastermind of the woods, Eddie McLaurin. In 2018, Woods of Terror offers 12 terrifying attractions with more than 180 actors!
Woods of Terror has been raved by Haunted Attraction Magazine, Yes Weekly, MSN , Buzzfeed and more. and now even Coaster Nation. Woods of Terror should be included on everyone’s bucket list of “must see haunted attractions”, and for good reason!
“This is our 27th year, and it promises to be the scariest,” said Eddie McLaurin, owner of the award-winning Woods Of Terror.
