Halloween Haunt Returns to Kings Dominion With New Scare Zone and Added Cost For Mazes

Halloween Haunt is back at Kings Dominion, filling the park with frights on select nights this fall. Guests can expect a mix of fan-favorite haunted mazes, immersive scare zones, eerie live entertainment, and the adrenaline of night rides — but with one important change. Haunted mazes are now premium attractions that require the purchase of a Haunted Attractions Pass in addition to regular park admission.

The haunted attraction (aka maze) lineup for 2025 features six returning experiences that have become staples of the event’s fear factor:

  • Blood on the Bayou – A swamp filled with shadowy figures and sinister secrets.
  • CornStalkers: Blood Harvest – Cornfields conceal more than just the harvest.
  • F.E.A.R. – Technology and terror collide in a high-tech nightmare.
  • GrimmWoods – Fairytales twisted into something far more menacing.
  • MonsterCon – Horror movie creatures and characters brought to life. Trick or
  • Treat – A deceptively charming neighborhood hiding dark surprises.

Scare zones, which are included with park admission, offer fright-filled encounters around the park. New for this year is The Catacombs, replacing the former Uprising zone. Other returning zones include Masquerade, Pumpkin Eater, Cleaver Brothers Carnival, and Site X.

Live entertainment also returns with two popular shows: Blood Reign, featuring dramatic battles and dark pageantry, and Black Widows Burlesque, blending gothic style with sinister performances.

Entry to the parks’ haunted attractions (aka mazes) is no longer included with regular park admission. After purchasing park admission (or using a season pass) guests will then have several options to visit the haunted attractions. Pricing is dynamic and varies depending on dates.

  • Haunted Attractions Pass – $10 to $25 per night for unlimited maze access. Does not include park admission.
  • Haunted Attractions Express Pass – $29 to $59 per night for priority entry to all mazes. Does not include park admission.
  • All Season Haunted Attractions Pass – for maze access all season long (no express access).

Families looking for something less frightening can enjoy Tricks and Treats, which runs Saturdays and Sundays from September 20 through November 2. The daytime event features a Trick-or-Treat Trail, mask-making, costume contests, and other kid-friendly activities.

The fall fun doesn’t stop there! Oktoberfest returns September 20 through November 2, serving authentic German food like sizzling bratwurst or creamy, cheesy spätzle and giant pretzels. Inspired by more than 200 years of history, Oktoberfest offers a breadth of live entertainment, craft beers and family-friendly activities for all ages.
