Dreamworld Announces Closure of Iconic Tower of Terror Coaster

Dreamworld shocked the world with the opening of Tower of Terror in 1997, the first coaster to break the 100 MPH speed record. The ride, along with the attached Giant Drop, soon became the iconic attraction of the Gold Coast park. Today, the park has revealed, that the Tower of Terror coaster will permanently close on November 3rd, 2019. The coaster will be removed, while the Giant Drop and tower will remain open.

The ride is being removed for new attractions. The park is set to open a 30 million pound (38 million dollars US) multi-launch version of the Mack Blue Fire coaster, as well as a new 7 million pound (9 million dollars US) water slide complex.
