Characters Announced for Running Universal’s Character Race at Universal Orlando Resort
Running Universal’s inaugural Epic Character Race 5K and 10K, taking place on February 1 & 2, 2020, has just announced the group of larger-than-life characters that will cheer on runners along the way. Runners, ages 5 and up, will be championed by mischievous Minions from the Despicable Me franchise, Velociraptor Blue from Jurassic World, the world’s favorite ogre Shrek with his friends, and the heroic Autobots and villanous Decepticons from Transformers, along with many more! Many of the characters will be available for pictures, making the Epic Character Race both an entertaining event and a race to remember.
Both the 5K and 10K will take runners throughout the immersive theme park environments of Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. 5K runners will make their way through Universal Studios Florida – including the iconic scenery of New York, San Francisco, and other areas of the park, as well as areas located towards the front of Islands of Adventure, including the mystical Port of Entry and Seuss Landing.
Runners of the 10K will experience a route through both parks including the sprawling lands of Jurassic Park, Toon Lagoon and more. A full course map will be available on www.UniversalOrlando.com/RunningUniversal in the coming weeks.
Registration is open for Running Universal’s Epic Character Race with standard pricing beginning at $82 per person. Runners can also add on VIP race upgrades – which include an exclusive character meet-and-greet and a post-race breakfast. Runners can also save on park admission to celebrate their achievement with friends and family.
