Cedar Point Requiring Reservations When Park Opens in May

The countdown to Summer is on and that means it’s almost time to ride your favorite  roller coasters at Cedar Point — A Place Like No Other.

To start the opening of the 2021 season, reservations will be required for all guests visiting Cedar Point. Online reservations will open to Season Passholders on April 26 at 11:00AM. Guests will need a reservation for each passholder for entry into Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores, every time you plan to visit. Reservations can be made here.

With opening day festivities at Cedar Point quickly approaching in May, the park has developed an extensive reopening plan that features new processes and procedures for 2021. This includes the removal of masks, access passes as well as managing socially distant capacity in both the amusement park and Waterpark by means of a reservation system.

Passholders who have booked a stay at Hotel Breakers, Lighthouse Point, or the Express Hotel, will receive guaranteed entry into Cedar Point during the dates of their stay.

While the return of reservations is not so exciting news, guests will be happy to hear that Fast Lane and Fast Lane Plus are both returning for this season. They, along with other special offerings like VIP Tours and Boardwalk Cruiser Tours, will go on sale on April 26.

Last year, the park made an effort to maintain social distancing in popular roller coaster lines, requiring guests to obtain an “access pass” in order to ride Millennium Force, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster and Steel Vengeance. Guests will be excited to learn that “access passes” have been eliminated for the 2021 season.

When Cedar Point reopens for the 2021 season, there will no longer be temperature checks and the face mask policy has changed. Guests aged 10 years and older are required to wear face coverings while indoors, unless actively eating and drinking. Face coverings are not required outdoors unless it is not possible to maintain 6’ of social distancing.

While social distancing will remain in place while waiting in line, there will be no limitations to ride capacity in 2021 — meaning every seat will be filled on rides including roller coasters.

A health screening questionnaire will be conducted by associates at the front gate and will not be available on the Cedar Point mobile app.

As a reminder, all 2020 Season Passes will be honored during the 2021 season.

Cedar Point will continue its 150th celebration when the park opens for the 2021 season with the kickoff of the Frontier Festival on Friday, May 14. Cedar Point Shores Waterpark will open for the season on Saturday, May 29. The park says Fall dates and hours to be released at a later time.

Cedar Point continues to monitor the ever-changing conditions surrounding the pandemic and is actively working with health experts and government officials to maintain the highest safety standards for guests and associates. Guests are encouraged to go to CedarPoint.com for the latest updates on requirements, policies and safety protocols for the 2021 season, as these guidelines may be revised.
