Canada’s Wonderland Unveils AlpenFury: The Nation’s Longest, Tallest, and Fastest Launch Coaster

Canada’s Wonderland is set to thrill guests next year with the introduction of AlpenFury, a groundbreaking launch coaster that promises to be the longest, tallest, and fastest of its kind in the country.

Nestled within the enigmatic Wonder Mountain, AlpenFury will combine the elements of fire and ice, propelling riders into an exhilarating adventure that begins with a dramatic launch, shooting the train 164ft into the sky.

Spanning 3,280ft across the park, AlpenFury will reach speeds of up to 71 mph and feature nine breathtaking inversions—the most of any launch coaster in North America.

It features nine inversions and three unique elements you won’t experience anywhere else. The Fire Serpent Roll is a distant relation to the Sea Serpent Roll, twisting and inverting riders through weightlessness and two unparalleled train-to-track near-miss interactions in a single element.

The Skyflyer Loop pays homage to the park’s former attraction and features an ascending helix that crests into a zero-G stall before diving into an inverting, descending roll. And the Ice Winder Roll twists and then untwists riders in two inversions as they ascend and descend through an overbanked hill.

“AlpenFury is a world-class attraction, and we’re excited for the unique thrills it will offer our guests,” said Phil Liggett, General Manager at Canada’s Wonderland. “The combination of being blasted out of Wonder Mountain, and then racing through nine inversions one right after the other, is going to be an experience guests won’t soon forget.”

Designed by Premier Rides, AlpenFury will be Canada’s Wonderland’s 19th roller coaster and the fourth to interact with Wonder Mountain. It will serve as the signature attraction in Alpenfest, a new themed area set to debut next year.

In Alpenfest, guests will be transported to a festival celebrating the mystical union of fire and ice. Among the highlights is a sled haus, offering a journey aboard a sleek, modern sled into the heart of Wonder Mountain, where the powerful forces of nature await.
