America’s First Slidewheel Coming To Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park
America’s first rotating water slide is coming to Mt. Olympus in 2022! Located in Wisconsin Dells, the rotating water slide ‘Slidewheel’ will be a whole new element of indoor water park excitement for guests to experience year round.
This might not be a surprise to some, as we first reported this attraction was coming back in March of 2020 — the same time Mt. Olympus started promoting a slidewheel on their website called “Hercules“. The ride was put on hold shortly after and no longer mentioned, until now…
Mt. Olympus has finally confirmed via social media that America’s first SlideWheel is coming to the water park in Summer 2022.
The SlideWheel combines the movement of a Ferris wheel with the speed and thrills of a water slide. The intricate tangle of tubes on a horizontal axis allows the entire ride to rotate while guests zoom through it. It offers all the best aspects of a classic water slide, like speed, g-forces, and even the occasional bit of air time, but its rotation brings so much more to the table. Thanks to the pendulum movement, rotation, and back-and-forth motions, it gives guests the impression that the ride is much longer than it is..
Here’s a model of the slide in action to better understand how it works. You will notice the demo is from the manufacturer Whitewater West. WhiteWater made a licensing deal with Wiegand.Maelzer to manufacture the German company’s innovative SlideWheel.
Ever since the slidewheel attraction made its debut in China, Americans have been wondering which park would be the first to install it in the states.

While the park originally called the ride “Hercules” back in their 2020 marketing, it appears they have not settled on a final name for the attraction just yet. As of now, the park is referring to it as “Mt. Olympus SlideWheel” — and who knows, they might just stick to that.
