Spirit Christmas Expands to 30 Stores Across 13 States in 2025
Spirit Halloween is keeping the holiday spirit alive well after spooky season wraps up. Following the success of its “Spirit Christmas” pilot last year, the retailer is making a bold move for 2025, expanding from its 10 test stores in the Northeast to 30 locations across 13 states.

After years of dominating fall with its haunted pop-up shops, the company is now channeling that same energy into Christmas with a one-of-a-kind immersive holiday shopping experience. Guests will be able to explore festive décor, themed inflatables, holiday apparel, exclusive gifts, and interactive displays designed to capture the magic of the season.
CEO Steven Silverstein says the idea is to extend the holiday magic: “The magic of the season does not end with Halloween—it transforms. Back by popular demand and with even more locations, Spirit Christmas is an extension of our sensory-rich, interactive holiday experiences.”
The stores will feature a Peppermint Village walkthrough, Santa Letter Writing Stations, and even special days where Santa himself stops in for meet-and-greet photo opportunities. Reservations for Santa sessions are already open at select locations.
While the first year of Spirit Christmas was limited to the Northeast, the 2025 rollout expands into the Midwest, with new openings in states like Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Most locations will open in either October or November, with exact dates still to be announced.
Here’s where you can find Spirit Christmas in 2025:
- New Jersey: Cherry Hill, Lawrenceville, Mays Landing, Paramus, Rockaway, Toms River
- Connecticut: Milford, Manchester
- Delaware: Christiana
- Illinois: Bloomingdale, Joliet, Naperville
- Indiana: Fort Wayne, Merrillville
- Kentucky: Lexington
- Maryland: Waldorf
- Massachusetts: North Attleborough, Dartmouth
- Michigan: Grand Rapids, Novi
- New Hampshire: Salem
- New York: Amherst, Bohemia, Poughkeepsie
- Ohio: Mentor, North Canton
- Pennsylvania: Bethel Park, Erie, Pittsburgh, Whitehall
Most Spirit Christmas shops are slated to appear in popular shopping centers and malls, echoing the retailer’s Halloween model of transforming empty retail spaces into seasonal destinations. Each location will bring its own festive twist, but all will share the brand’s signature combination of immersive environments, interactive features, and shelves stocked with everything from classic décor to new holiday collectibles.

Spirit Christmas isn’t entirely new. The idea first surfaced in the 1990’s when Spirit Halloween founder Joseph Marver extended store leases into the holiday season, describing it as a “no brainer” experiment. The concept was eventually discontinued, but Spencer Gifts revived it briefly in 2005 and 2006 after acquiring the brand. Nearly twenty years later, Spirit brought the concept back in 2024 with a small test run of ten stores, laying the groundwork for this year’s ambitious 30-store rollout.
The expansion comes as Spirit Halloween itself gears up for another record year, with more than 1,500 Halloween stores open nationwide for Fall. By extending into Christmas, the company is proving it’s ready to carry its seasonal dominance straight through the end of the year.
